Travel Light – Sam Beckett & Julian Bénoliel in Marseille

I reckon Sam Beckett couldn’t have picked a better destination. Marseille basically has everything a tranny skater could possibly dream of, including a legendary bowl by the beach, an incredible DIY spot, delicious weather all year round (well almost) and the one and only Julien Bénoliel to show you about!

Here’s what French photographer Vincent Coupeau had to say about the trip:

Describe your travel light trip to Marseilles in one sentence:
We spent 4 days around Marseille, it’s a warm place – we like warm places.

Best tale from Marseilles:
We went to “La Caverne” – a spot up a hill outside the city – and when we got there, it was actually occupied by a hundred of people playing war games with fake guns and stuff – fucking funny.

Worst tale of the trip:
Last day we decided to eat Chinese so we went to that restaurant and there was this birthday party going inside. The waitress said we can just stay in the corner of the room and eat but it’s gonna be busy. Soon enough the revelers started dancing all around us and playing super bad music super loud. Maybe not the best restaurant we’ve ever been to!

Did you take back any souvenirs?
The souvenirs I brought home are all inside my head, except for some pictures…

Lightest traveller?
Bailey traveled the lightest; he barely had a bag aside from his camera bag, genius!

Where would you have gone if it were up to you?
If I had chosen the destination I would have gone to Gran Canaria, because it’s even warmer, and it’s the best place on earth!
