Time for Henning’s section from the Delta Charlie 3 video and a little quickfire interview. In case you’ve missed the other parts from the video, just do a search on this site for Delta Charlie, or scroll down for the link after this post. The video came out earlier this year and was filmed and edited by Frederic Esnault.
You’re the TM and marketing guy at DC Norway, as well as riding for the European DC team right?
I’m doing team and skate marketing for DC in Norway. I still do somethings with DC EU, but after my son was born and I got the opportunity to do this job, my role in the EU team is kind of fading, haha. It´s funny though, after I got all these responsibilities, my motivation and skating has gotten a lot better. DC is doing really well in Norway so we get to go on all kinds of cool trips. We just got back from a two week roadtrip through Cali.

Does it ever get confusing on trips as to what your role should be?
-Not really. Now I mostly go on trips with the Norwegian team and there my role is very clear. Even though I skate a lot on the trips, my main goal is to get the most out of the guys. I’ve travelled a lot in my career and learned a lot of do’s and don’t’s as a TM. I try to skate with the guys all of the time and motivate them to skate their best.
You ever feel bad when your team is waiting for you to film a line?
-NO! haha, no seriously, I try to film my stuff when they are chilling or warming up. Sometimes I try to be a good example and show them efficient line filming. They have to make their tricks if their old ass team manger can do it!

So your part isn’t all filmed after office hours?
-Not really, I have a pretty open schedule. I’m away on a lot of trips and work almost every weekend, so I don’t feel bad if I stay out of the office for a couple of days to film. It’s actually part of my contract.
What’s your daily schedule like these days then? Do you manage to squeeze a session in there mostly?
Get up at 7 with my son and get him to kindergarten. Then office from nine to four or five. Pick my son up, dinner and all that. Usually I skate twice a week and of course in the weekends. A lot of the times we’re on team missions too so I get to skate then as well. I actually skate more than I should, my knee is hurting these days…

Any plans for this year yet, with either Norway or the Euro team?
We always have a lot of plans. Now we are soon releasing our tour vid from the Cali trip. We have a travelling skatecamp that goes on all summer. We are also making a trick tip video that will be a lot different than other trick tip vids. We have a summer tour and also we’re planning two big street contests. One of them will be held at the granite plaza. “The Guru of the Granite” May 21. I don’t think I’ll be on any of the DC EU trips this year, but I might go down to Barca to film something for the EU vid.
