Delta Charlie 3 – Daniel Øynes section

Up today in the Delta Charlie 3 releases is Mr Daniel Øynes. Read what he has to say below and scroll down for his section.

Your section begins with swearwords and slams. Would you say you stress a lot skating?
Yeah, pretty much. Especially while filming.

Is your part mostly filmed in Norway?
All my tricks are filmed in Oslo, Norway.

That park you skate with the blocks and the spine in the background – is that the one Henning designed?
Yeah, it is the design of mr. Henning Braaten himself.

Is that your local warm up spot?
No it’s not. I live downtown Oslo so I have a lot of other warm up spots to choose from. To skate that park I have to take the train for 20 minutes and then walk for a while, so I only skate there if my friend’s shotgun seat hasn’t been called by someone else.

Is made out of granite or what ? Looks really good.
Yeah, it’s granite. I think it’s one of the funniest parks I have ever skated. The best thing about it is the space. It’s nice to have a place to skate where you don’t have to stand in line to do a trick or worry about crashing into some other skater. And if you have one of those days you can scream, throw your board and act all crazy without feeling like a dork.

Do you have a favourite section in the video?
My favourite in the movie is Henning. The pop is crazy, the style wicked, and besides, he is older than me. I had a good upbringing so I know the importance of respecting elders, haha….he’s only a couple of years older than me, but I’m still in my twenties and he’s not, haha.

What about a favourite trick in your own part? Can you describe the situation when you filmed it?
That must be the switch tailslide at the end. The curbs are famous in Oslo and they are located on the campus of Oslo’s Institution of Higher Education. The Institution has a crazy amount of security guards working there so the bust factor is huge. I was probably busted 8 out of 10 times last year! So whenever I try doing tricks there all I think about is those guards. They all have their different approaches, but they usually stand in front of the curb until you leave. I remember I was trying the trick, getting more and more stressed because I didn’t quite make it to the end of the curb, but when I first did I landed the one you see in the movie. I was hyped because I didn’t think I would land it and was even more hyped when a security guard came from behind and told us to wrap it up. I remember saying something like: “haha, just did it sucker!” It was a good day.

I am really into tomato soup, so if you are a soup company representative and you read this please hook me up. It doesn’t necessarily have to be tomato soup, I am into fish- and minestrone soup as well!

How about it, soupies?
