On our second day in Israel our friends Avi and Noam took us a half an hour ride away to the city of Hashdog. Ashdod. We’ve all been pretty amazed to find out how mellow Israel is and how friendly the people are. Not sure exactly why that should surprise anyone, when basically it’s what everyone will always say after visiting here. Suppose you just have to see it for yourself for it to really sink in. Hardly anywhere seems to be a bust and people are mostly just stoked to see skating. Even the few winos on the street are polite. There’s a strange we’re-all-in-this-together good vibe about it all. So Hasdod then. Wainwright’s day, skated all day, shot three things, filmed a couple more, decorated the trash in front of the spot in true Arte Povera style. Bet he’ll be feeling it today in dem legs.
