Bright Tradeshow: A Non-Serious Skateboard Bowl Competition

Bright Tradeshow presented “A Non-Serious Skateboard Bowl Competition” as their closing event on Friday. The invitational event went down in relaxed Chalet Club adjacent the Bright venue in Berlin Kreuzberg. A snug fitting but very fun bowl was put in place by the Yamato Livingramps crew and the elusive crew of shredders made good use of it. The whole thing was made up of multiple challenges from the mind of Julian Dykmans: Starting with the Neil Blender challenge – riding on 80’s set-ups with mendatory graffing after the run –, then rail challenge on additional flatbar, last man standing, highest air, to best rider of the day. And each challenge’s winner was honored with sick prizes the Bright crew had come up with: From a bottle of 21 year old whiskey, a Pelago bike, a Huf sleeping bag filled with weed leaf socks to a Sony point and shoot…

Besides everyone there that day, from Dannie Carlsen, Fernando Bramsmark, Dylan Witkins, Hugo Boserup, Nassim Guammaz, Farid Ulrich and a bunch of others, one guy clearly stood out: Daan van der Linden. Effortless, playful, spontaneous, yet in full control skating – the type you can’t get enough of… full-on next level shit. So with that said, big-ups to everyone skating and everyone involved; to a round two hopefully next year!
