Youness Amrani

Youness Amrani is an am for the Nike SB skateboarding team. He’s also sponsored by some big names, including Almost Skateboards, Switch Skateshop, Venture Trucks, Spitfire Wheels, Swiss Bearings, Skullcandy and Hélas caps. He got his big break in 2010 from winning Red Bull’s Manny Mania AM competition aged just 18.

He followed this up with a series of quality video parts in the Belgian film Noorder Light (2011), Nike’s SB Chronicles Vol. 01 (2011) and Almost’s full-length 5-incher from 2012. He also won the Best Trick competition at the 2012 AmsterDamn Am, with a kickflip manual to feeble grind on the handrail, and finished sixth in the 2013 Street League Skateboarding Select Series.

Born on 1st November 1991 in the Belgian town of Hasselt, Youness got his start in a local skatepark owned by his Moroccan mother. However, despite growing up in Europe, his roots remained firmly in north Africa, and he returned to the country of his parents’ birth in 2013 with brother Fayssal to make a new part called Marrakesh Express, in which the two boys spent ten days covering the road between Casablanca and Marrakesh.

Starting with footage made up of purely hard, tech tricks, Youness has developed into one of the most versatile individuals in skateboarding today. He possesses mind-blowing board control, technical ability to spare and a unique bag of tricks, and is ready and willing to skate any obstacle that comes his way, making him one of the most fun guys to watch on the scene right now.
