Frenchman Charles Collet, sponsored by Cliché, RVCA, Planet Sport and Mabasi, is one of the heaviest hitters on the European skate scene. After appearing in many videos for Cliché, including Bon Appetit, Freedom Fries, Gypsy Tour (all (2004), Hello JoJo (2006), Gypsy Tour 2 (2007), and Clé and Déja Vu (both 2008), he made the big move in turning pro with the company in 2009.
Since then, he has appeared in the 2009 etnies tour video Sangria Nights, alongside riders such as Sean Malto and Julian Furones, and RVCA’s Dick Moves from 2010, as well as further releases from Cliché. He was also one of many leading French skaters to appear in Fabien Lejeune’s independently-produced Fall Out video from 2011.
Charles (or ‘Loulou’ as he is known to his friends) was born on 21st September 1985 in Grenoble. He is a full-time gypsy, currently splitting his time between Lyon (where Cliché Skateboards is headquartered), his family’s home in the French countryside, and skate spots around the world. Whether it’s Lyon, Berlin or Barcelona, Charles can set up home anywhere, sleeping in the smallest of spaces, shredding the gnarliest spots and partying all night.
Riding a 8.1 deck, 52mm wheels and wide trucks, he says that his favourite spot is ‘any good bowl’ and his favourite move, the kickflip. His ability to crank out trick after trick, and his insatiable desire to travel the world, searching for new places and spots to discover, has lead to him becoming undoubtedly one of the most talented skaters around.
