While you’re waiting for Pontus Alv’s next epic venture to film making, check him in action.
And then something completely different, namely It’s A Wrap, the first full length video coming out of China. Well, in any case it’s the first one we’ve seen here and it’s well worth a check. There are a lot of familiar spots from Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, but unlike the world-travelling pros you’re used to seeing on them, this time it’s the locals like Che Lin, Johnny Tang, Boss Xie and Jeremy Hu from Gift skateboards. The video took two years of filmer Charles Lanceplaine’s time to make and it’s supported by Fly Skatehsop, Gift Skateboards and Nike SB.

Wall Street Journal has a strange article about painting on skateboards. Whatever your opinion on painting on boards and calling it art may be, you’d be hard pressed not to admit that it’s been talked about for many years now. WSJ seems to have missed all of it. I really don’t know what that’s a sign of. Skateboarding is still underground? Aron Rose’s efforts never reverberated with the “official” art world? The reporters at WSJ have taken a decade long lunch break?
