"90 skaters from over 15 countries opened up the Barcelona AM, the first stop of the Nike SB European Series at the brand new Skate Agora plaza next to the beach in Badalona.

Locals mixed it up with strong turnout of top-shelf European players whilst skaters from Russia, Brazil and Chile added an unknown flavour to the start list.

With only 15 making a cut to a Saturday final, the new park opened up what are seemingly endless lines to the stoke of the crowd that came down to watch. Added hype came in the shape of several Street League pros in town for an event at the same venue over the weekend, who hung out to soak up the heat making it ‘show and prove’ time for many of the AM skaters wanting a spot in the finals.

Those that kept their heads included Kilian Zehnder out of Zurich who not only qualified first with a practically faultless run but did it with a smile like he’d just put on a pair of jeans and found a €20 note in the pocket. Danny Leon held it down for Spain with trademark speed and flow around the park and London skater Casper Brooker secured himself a finals spot with a solid onslaught on the newly laid concrete."

Doors open for Saturday’s final at 6.45pm at Skate Agora Plaza, Carretera de Mataro 2-20 Badalona.
