Coinciding with landmark anniversaries for both brands in 2016, Vans x Slam City Skates will launch two special edition shoes this weekend in celebration of their long standing partnership.
Based on models from the archive that were originally released at key moments during Slam’s history; the Native in 1988 and the Lampin in 1993, the shoes and boxes are adorned with retro Slam artwork by Edwin Pouncey (Savage Pencil) and Tod Swank. Both the Native and Lampin have been brought up-to-date with the addition of Vans’ Pro Skate technologies, Duracap and Ultracush, for the very first time.
Accompanying the collaboration, Mark Jackson created a video edit featuring David Atkinson, who worked closely with the Vans product team to design the shoes, as well as past and present Slam employees Oscar Oneim, Tom Tanner and Vans team rider Denis Lynn who are seen skating the shoes on the streets of London.
The Vans x Slam City Skates Native and Lampin shoes will be exclusive to Slam City Skates and available in-store and online from 9am Saturday 22nd October.
