After rumours had been circulating for a while, adidas last night officially confirmed that Daewon Song and Marc Johnson would be joining the team, making the announcement at the Away Days world premiere in Los Angeles.
In comments on his Instagram account, Daewon Song stated he left DVS because “after 19yrs I needed change that whole company is not the same people anymore”.
No word from Marc Johnson as of yet, but you can already picture the amount of discussion and ‘outrage’ on skate forums this is going to generate. Particularly given the things Marc has said in interviews in the past:
“Okay. No, I wouldn’t ride for a mainstream sports footwear brand. I would not skate for Big Company Footwear.”
