Infamous East Coast Pitcrew skate shop desciples Corey Huber and Thomas Gumphrey take up camp at Mark Nickel's Berlin home to get a bite out of "the old Europe".
"The level of motivation is completely different when you come to another country, especially when there are no sponsors fronting the cost of your trip. Eating as cheap as possible, skating some amazing spots, going to a party or two, and trying to see something old along the way; that is the usual check list. Trying to stack as much footage to make the trip feel worth it, that is always the main goal.
Corey & Thomas both skate for my local skateshop outside the DC area, PitCrew. Since I moved, I have had an open invite for any of the team riders to visit & there are only a few who have taken me up on the offer. I have wanted Corey to visit for awhile now and glad he finally made it over last year. I know he would leave with a good amount of footage, along with bringing back over one of his best friends to skate with.
This was Corey’s first european trip & Thomas’s second time to the city. From the moment they got here, it was non-stop skating. Yeah, they took a quick moment here and there to be a tourist, but only if it was on the way to skate something. The weather was not on our side most of the trip, so I was hyped we got as much stuff as we did in the 9 days they were here. Add that to a few clips that Thomas filmed on his last trip to Berlin & Dresden, we have the third video in the new series.
Welcome to Wooden Nickels episode 3 with my homies… Corey Huber & Thomas Gumphrey" – Mark Nickels
