FREE ENTRY & ACTIVITIES
This Saturday see’s House of Vans London raise some hell as the Vans comes together with Crossfire to present the 2014 Vans x Crossfire Halloween Massacre.
From 14:00 House of Vans’ infamous indoor bowl will host the biggest international Bowl Jam the UK has seen this year, and with skaters travelling from as far as the USA, the €10,000 prize money will be hotly contested. As the first skate competition to take place in the recently opened venue, it’ll see some of the world’s best transition riders battling it out like crazed zombies, hungry for brains and blunt slides. Many international attendees have already been confirmed, including Mason Merlino, Sam Partaix, Nassim Guammaz and Alain Goikoitxea, to name a few.
Open to both amateurs and professionals, the comp will be streamed live at HouseOfVansLondon.com, so if you can’t make it to London, be sure to tune in online.
During the day they’ll be enough going on to keep you stoked well into the afterlife, with scary screenings of Halloween classics such as Night of the Living Dead, Bad Taste and Evil Dead in the Cinema and the ‘Walk Among Us’ exhibition – curated by Crossfire – in the gallery space, showcasing the macabre works of the nations finest artists and illustrators. Elsewhere you can freak out your friends with gory face painting from Gorewhore and get creative in a Piñata making workshop with the slightly less scary Lizzie King.
As the daytime event wraps up, Vans’ own team rider Bastien Duverdier will be performing live on stage as KéPA, soothing you his own Basque blend of folkish blues with his resophonic guitar to ensure you don’t have nightmares.
As the doors close on the comp, they prepare to reopen at 21:00, as the Vans x Crossfire Halloween Massacre really gets ghoulish. Norwegian death punks Turbonegro will be doing their best to wake the dead with a raucous set, accompanied by some very special guests and alongside DJ sets by BBC Radio 1Xtra’s DJ Semtex, Crossfire Sound System and Dogger & DRS. With a theme of DEAD ROCK N’ ROLLERS vs ZOMBIE RIPPER FIENDS, made sure you dress up, as the Crossfire Halloween Massacre is famed for being one of the best nights in town.
Both the Bowl Comp and Turbo Negro will be live streamed at HouseOfVansLondon.com, and follow the action with the hashtag!
