The on-going battle for the preservation of London’s Southbank spot is something that’s on everybody’s mind right now. This edit shows the entire campaign from day one and displays the pure passion behind it. Henry Edwards-Wood and the rest of the LLSB community have been putting an unbelievable amount of time and energy into this fight and it’s made very clear from this video. I know physical skateboarding footage isn’t the main focus of this film, but the message and issues involved either affect you directly or are something you can easily relate to as a skater, no matter where you’re from. The Southbank (Undercroft) has housed a huge chunk of skateboarding’s history and has a worldwide significance to our culture. People from all over look to it as an iconic space and that’s something that shouldn’t be lost. By the looks of where things are currently going, Henry’s film is definitely an important piece of media and will be in the future. ‘Southbank: The Bigger Picture’ will teach you something and if you already haven’t, join the campaign and get involved. You can’t move history.
